An electrical range needs a 50 amp electrical breaker with a copper wire size of 10 AWG.
The 10 AWG wire is usually in a color orange.
You can use 10 -2 electrical wire for an electrical range which is what I wired my electric range with.
The 10-2 electrical wire has a black and white wire and a ground.
The black and white wires are wired as hot wires for 240 volts of electricity to the range.
Then the ground goes to the neutral and ground.
So as long as you wire electrical range with the 10-2 wire and use a 50 amp electrical breaker it will be up to code.
Some smaller ranges may only need a 30 amp breaker but going with 10-2 wire and a 50 amp breaker is always a good idea.
