The Williamsburg bridge is made of steel, steel cables and concrete.

The Williamsburg Bridge is a suspension bridge that connects Manhattan and Brooklyn over the East River and is made up of steel and concrete.

Leffert Lefferts Buck designed the Williamsburg Bridge with a steel frame and it was opened to public use in the year 1903.

During 1903 when the Williamsburg Bridge first opened it was considered to be the longest suspension bridge in the world.

However now there are many other long and longer suspension bridges and we've come a long way with design and architecture of bridges since 1903.

A decrepit walkway on the Williamsburg Bridge was closed in June 1991, and it reopened as a bike path in March 1992. Since the new bike path opened, the bridge has become the most heavily bicycled span in North America.
