Full coverage motorcycle insurance is only worth the extra cost if you're financing the motorcycle or the motorcycle is a brand new motorcycle whether you're paying it through financing it or you've paid cash for the motorcycle.

The full coverage is worth it for a high value motorcycle so that the motorcycle can be replaced in the event of wreck that totals the motorcycle.

But if you get into a motorcycle wreck that totals the motorcycle then it will usually cause severe injury or death to the motorcycle driver.

I would still have full coverage motorcycle insurance on the motorcycle if it were of high value.

But if you don't owe any money on the motorcycle and the motorcycle is older than 10 years old then I would not have full coverage motorcycle insurance on it.

Liability motorcycle insurance would be enough.

Most motorcycles are not any more expensive to maintain than a car or other vehicle.

Motorcycles usually need more maintaining than cars do but it's really more expensive.

But you do have motorcycle insurance which is usually cheaper than car insurance and the motorcycle gets better gas mileage than most cars do.

You can drive a motorcycle with a car license if your car license has a motorcycle endorsement on it.

So you would have to take a motorcycle test and get licensed to ride a motorcycle with your car license.

Some states may give you a separate motorcycle license that is different from your car license.

If your car drivers license has no motorcycle endorsement then no you cannot legally drive or ride a motorcycle with your car license.

You have to take a separate test which is a motorcycle written test as well as a test of you driving the motorcycle before you can get a motorcycle license.

Getting a motorcycle license is pretty easy though and you can get one through your DMV.

Make sure you study up on the laws on motorcycles before you take the motorcycle written test.
