The freezing cold and just cold temperatures reduce our blood circulation and when the blood circulation in our fingers and in other parts of the body slows down or we lose blood circulation our fingers and other parts of the body go numb.

Just like when our legs fall asleep. They go numb because of loss of blood circulation.
