When driving with a dog in the car you should stop every hour to allow the dog to get out, walk around and also allow the dog to pee and get some water to drink.

Dogs will get restless more than an adult human would and will need a break while traveling in the car.

When driving a long distance you should not drive any longer than 2 hours at a time without taking a break.

You need to get out of the vehicle and take a break and walk around often because being behind the wheel too long can cause you to get tired and lose your focus.

You also need to stretch your legs and walk around and go pee, check the fluids in your vehicle and also get gasoline.

I always just try to top the gas tank off as well even when it's not even at a half a tank.

That also gives me a chance to get out, walk around etc.

I usually stop every hour on a road trip although I used to stop every 2 hours.

But the older I get the less time I can spend in the drivers seat at a time.

When driving long distances you should stop and take a break every 1 to 2 hours.

You should not drive longer than 2 hours at a time without stopping to take a break.

You need to get out of the vehicle, stretch your legs, walk around, use the toilet etc.

If you have kids riding with you then you need to stop at least every hour or so and if the kid needs to pee or poop you should stop and let them do so.

I stop every 1 hour of driving when possible because any longer than 1 hour of driving my butt starts hurting and my leg starts hurting as well.

I need a restroom break every hour as well.

And if I see a gas station I go ahead and top off the gas tank even if it's not at half a tank yet.
