Yes inmates and people in jail or prison do get access to dialysis if they need it.

Dialysis patients need dialysis treatments 3 times per week to keep the kidneys from building up toxins in the body.

When kidneys fail they cannot filter out the toxins in the body which can then lead to death.

The kidneys are what filters out the toxins in the body and when they fail to work the person needs dialysis treatments.

So if the inmate or person needs dialysis due to kidney failure then they are required to allow them to have dialysis treatments.

Prisons have a medical ward in the prison where the prisoners will go for dialysis treatments for 3 to 4 hours per day.

In jail they sometimes have dialysis machines but not always and if not the jail will take the inmate out in handcuffs etc to a dialysis treatment center and stand guard with them until the dialysis treatment is over and then take them back to jail.

Thank you for your reply, however, I don't even understand how people with dialysis needs commit crimes, I mean, don't they realize that they're most likely be dead in couple of years or even months in prison, they need special care, not prison treatment and prison severe conditions, you know. I'd suggest to set them free or bail them. Bailing is pretty optimal solution for both state and person, if he wants to live more than few months. There is a special company -contra costa county inmate locator which helps to bail prisoners out, their services are pretty satisfactory. Unfortunately, I was forced t use this service because of my uncle committing pretty stupid action...
