Ammonia is an ingredient in Windex as well as some other window cleaning solutions.

So yes you can use some ammonia diluted in water to help clean windows.

Also you can use diluted vinegar by adding half vinegar and half water to a spray bottle and then spray the window with the solution and then use a rag or sponge to wash your windows with.
