Yes pandas can swim pretty good and are excellent swimmers.

Not only are pandas excellent swimmers the panda is also a good climber and can climb trees as early as 6 months of age.

Also unlike other bears that hibernate in the winter the panda bear does not hibernate like those other bears.

Baby pandas when they are first born as a newborn baby panda is actually a tiny pink color.

The baby panda is born the color pink and the baby panda is also born blind.

Eventually as the newborn baby panda grows and gets older they turn into the black and white color as they grow.

Pandas are pretty gentle bears and are usually cuddly.

However if you come up against a wild panda bear do not try to hug or or cuddle with it as it may see you as a threat.

You still need to be very careful around wild pandas and even pandas that are in Zoos.

I've actually hugged a panda that was in a zoo and he was a very gentle creature but you need to be careful around them regardless.

A mother panda carries the baby panda for between 95 days to 160 days before it gives birth to the baby panda.

Carrying of the baby panda in the mother pandas womb is also known as the gestation period.

The average lifespan of a panda is around 20 years.

Pandas live on average around 15 to 20 years which is a bit longer than some dogs live.

There was a panda that lived to be 38 years old before it died and that 38 year old panda was kept in captivity and well cared for.

So it's possible if the panda is not living in the wild that it may live more than 20 years.

However even in the wild a panda may live longer than 20 years.

Just like humans can outlive their normal lifespan the animals including the panda bear and any other bears may live longer.
