Unless the tire was overinflated with too much air when you stabbed the tire then the tire would not explode when you stab it.
When you stab a tire all that should happen is the air rushes out really quickly and you might hear a pop if you stab it hard enough.
I stabbed an old tire just to see what it would do and it did not explode and just had a popping sound and a rush of air came out of it.
Tires usually only explode if you over inflate them while airing them up or while going down the road on a bad tire.
A tire doesn't explode when you run over a nail even going down the highway but it can come apart if you slice the tire on the highway or road with something.
