Why does my lamp flicker when I turn it on?

My desk lamp always flickers when I turn it on and then it flickers for around 10 to 20 minutes and sometimes shuts completely off and then comes right back on by itself.

What could cause the lamp with a good LED bulb to flicker and then go up and on?

I put the bulb in another lamp and it doesn't flicker so I'm assuming it's something in the lamp but what could it be?

When your lamp flickers and the light bulb is good and works fine in another lamp or other light socket then the issue is with the lamp itself.

The cause of the light flickering is because the bulb is not getting a good enough electrical connection which then allows the light to flicker and shut off and come back on when it makes connection.

I have a lamp that will sometimes flicker and sometimes it is caused by little dead bugs that somehow got underneath the light bulb and got into the light socket.

So I have to make sure to remove the bulb and clean any bugs out of the socket.

Then sometimes the cause of the light or lamp flickering is a lose wire to the lamp socket or a bad lamp light switch or the socket of the lamp could be bad as well.

If the lamp is a good lamp you like then you can go to Home Depot or other stores and buy a new lamp light bulb socket and wire it up.
