Yes you can avoid jury duty and never have to serve on the Jury.

The simplest way of completely avoiding jury duty is to throw the letter away and not respond to it.

If you do not respond to the Jury Summons they cannot prove you got the Jury Duty summons letter in the first place.

Once you respond then you have to try to prove you have something that prevents you from serving on the Jury Duty.

You can prove hardship or if you have a mental illness, cannot serve for other reasons etc.

But the best thing to do is just not respond.

I've gotten Jury Duty Summons letters several times over 15 years and never have responded to them and never once have I gotten into trouble for not responding.

I've been into court for other things and never have been into trouble for not responding to the Jury Duty.
