The best way to stop a dog from marking inside the house is to have the dog spayed or neutered.

When the dog is spayed or neutered then they will stop spraying or marking their territory in the house.

In the mean time you can use a spray bottle of water to spray the dog when they start to mark inside the house or use a rolled up newspaper to ward them off from doing so.

When the dog marks the inside of the house be sure to use a urine odor neutralizer to get rid of the smell so that they will not want to mark in those areas again.

Keep it clean to avoid them marking and also do get them spayed or neutered if you haven't already.

Also you can usually spray some essential oils mixed with some vinegar and water to stop them from peeing in the house along with stopping them from spraying marking in the house too.

This works for cats spraying or marking inside the house as well.

Yes there are scents that you can use to repel dogs from peeing on carpet, furniture etc.

You can use citrus-scented essential oil, like citronella, orange, eucalyptus, or lime along with some vinegar and water spray solution.

Then spray the solution on carpet, upholstery etc to keep dogs from peeing on those areas.

Also when you notice your dog about to pee in the house or on the carpet, upholstery etc tell them that they are not to do that and then immediately take the dog outside to pee.

Some dogs will prefer to pee in the house and in those cases you need to force the dog outside and keep them outside until they pee.

Eventually they will pee outside.

So always direct the dog to the outside to pee and take them outside often enough to allow them to pee so they won't be peeing in the house.
