Belief in Divine Decree (Predestination): Nothing happens without God's permission. God is all-knowing, and while humans have free will to choose their actions, God is ultimately sovereign over the universe.
The five pillars of Islam are the obligatory acts of worship that put Islamic beliefs into daily practice:
Shahada (Profession of Faith): The sincere declaration that "There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God."
Salat (Prayer): Performing the five daily prayers (at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and night) while facing the Kaaba in Mecca.
Zakat (Almsgiving): A religious tax or obligatory charity given to the poor and needy.
Sawm (Fasting): Fasting from dawn to sunset during the holy month of Ramadan to develop self-discipline and empathy for the less fortunate.
Hajj (Pilgrimage): A once-in-a-lifetime physical and spiritual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, required for those who are physically and financially able.
