The US state that has the most Muslims is New York.

Out of any U.S. state, the state of New York has the highest number of Muslims.

New York has an estimated population of 724,000 Muslims.

And California has an estimated 504,000 population of Muslims.

And Illinois has an estimated population of 473,000 Muslims.

New Jersey has an estimated population of 321,652 Muslims.

And Texas has an estimated population of 313,209 Muslims.

Muslims believe in one supreme, all-powerful God (Allah).

The Muslims believe that God's final message was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad and is recorded in the Quran. The faith is centered on submitting to God's will, following the footsteps of previous prophets (including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus), and living a righteous, charitable life.

Islam beliefs are also traditionally defined by the six articles of faith, while religious life is structured around the five pillars of Islam.

These core beliefs represent the foundation of Islamic theology:

Belief in God (Tawhid): Absolute monotheism. God is one, unique, and has no partners or offspring.

Belief in the Angels: Unseen, spiritual beings created by God to worship Him and carry out His commands.

Belief in the Holy Books: God sent revelations to humanity, including the Quran (to Muhammad), the Gospel (to Jesus), the Psalms (to David), and the Torah (to Moses).

Belief in the Prophets: God sent messengers throughout history to guide humanity. Muslims respect figures like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, with Muhammad being the final prophet.

Belief in the Day of Judgment: Life on earth is a test. At the end of the world, all humans will be resurrected and judged for their deeds, determining their eternal destination in Paradise or Hell.

Belief in Divine Decree (Predestination): Nothing happens without God's permission. God is all-knowing, and while humans have free will to choose their actions, God is ultimately sovereign over the universe.

The five pillars of Islam are the obligatory acts of worship that put Islamic beliefs into daily practice:

Shahada (Profession of Faith): The sincere declaration that "There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God."

Salat (Prayer): Performing the five daily prayers (at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and night) while facing the Kaaba in Mecca.

Zakat (Almsgiving): A religious tax or obligatory charity given to the poor and needy.

Sawm (Fasting): Fasting from dawn to sunset during the holy month of Ramadan to develop self-discipline and empathy for the less fortunate.

Hajj (Pilgrimage): A once-in-a-lifetime physical and spiritual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, required for those who are physically and financially able.
