If you're driving down the road and your car begins to slide on the ice do not panic and slowly remove your foot from the gas pedal.

Don't slam on the brakes as that can cause you to lose control of the vehicle.

Just slowly remove your foot from the gas pedal to slow down and then if needed gently tap the brakes and pull off onto the side of the road.

Or if you can keep going just drive slower on the ice.

Your stopping distance also increases when on icy roads or snowy roads to you need to factor that in as well.

It can take you 80 Foot to 100 Foot longer to stop the car in snowy and icy conditions than it would on dry roads.

If your car starts to skid you should steer the car into the skid.
