Yes chip credit cards can still be skimmed because the chip credit card contains the magnetic strip still.

The skimmer can still then read that magnetic strip and skim the information off your credit card and then drain your credit card or bank account.

Chip Credit cards can also be read through an RFID reader even through your pocket so if you have a chip credit card make sure to put it in a special wallet to block the RFID waves so that the credit card information cannot be stolen through your purse, wallet etc.

Credit card information can only be stolen from your pocket or purse or wallet through an RFID reader if you have a credit card with the RFID chip on it.

Then in that case if you have the RFID chip credit card and someone has an RFID reader they can skim or steal the credit card information from your pocket or anywhere else as long as they are close enough without even touching the credit card.

So credit cards with the RFID chip are actually less secure than credit cards without them.

You can also buy a wallet that blocks the RFID waves where it cannot get to your credit card to steal the information.

I've seen those wallets online and on TV but since I don't have a credit card with the RFID chip in it I don't have one of those wallets.
