If the sex offender is convicted of having any sexual relations with children or did any fondling of a child or children then yes those sex offenders will lose their parental rights and they should.

Nobody that molests children or has any sexual contact with children should have kids in their custody as they are a danger to those children even if the children are their own.

If the sex offender had sexual offenses with someone that just wasn't of age and the person consented even though they could not legally consent then they may or may not lose their parental rights as it all depends on the circumstances and the states laws.

If someone is convicted as a sex offender and is sent to prison for the sexual offense they will lose parental rights and custody of their kids.

Then when and if the sex offender gets released from prison they will have to either have supervised visits with their minor children or they may not be allowed to visit or see their kids at all.

If someone has raped a child or has done any other sexual acts with a child then they will almost always lose parental rights and custody of the child or children.

Then they will either serve life in prison or at least 15 to 25 years in prison so by the time they are possibly released from prison there kids will be grown up anyway and moved away.

Once their kids are adults they can choose to see their parents or not.

Once someone gets on the sex offender registry it's for the rest of the persons life and they cannot work with children or be around children.
