My house is in need of roof replacement since the shingles have started to go bad.

I'm trying to decide if I want to replace the roof again with asphalt shingles or replace it with a metal roof.

The metal roof will be higher in cost but will the metal roof outlast the new shingles?

What is the typical lifespan I should expect from a metal roof?

A metal roof if installed properly and maintained should last 50 years at least and some have lasted 100 years.

Although a metal roof will cost more than a shingle roof you don't have to replace a metal roof as often as a shingle roof.

Metal roofing would be my choice for a new roof.
