Putting batteries in a freezer can help extend the lifespan of the batteries sometimes but since a battery needs power to be charged there's no way that a battery can be charged in a freezer.
I gave it a try before to see if they would recharge some in the freezer but since no power is in the freezer the batteries didn't charge up.
However I did notice that the batteries did come back to life a little but not fully charged so the freezing cold may have put a tiny bit of charge back into the batteries somehow through a chemical reaction.
But the batteries did not stay charged very long and they had very little extra charge in them.
The only real way to charge batteries is to use a battery charger for rechargeable batteries.
