When you call a lawyer after a car accident the lawyer will sometimes visit you at the hospital to consult with you or you can show up at the lawyers office for a consultation.

The lawyer will then work with the police and you to gather evidence of the car accident and to prove that you were not at fault.

If someone else was at fault for the car accident then the lawyer will get that evidence to prove in the court when they show up at court with you to sue for the car accident.

The lawyer will also usually speak with both insurance companies and get the other drivers insurance information and file the necessary paperwork required.

If the lawyer can prove that you're not at fault for the car accident then they will schedule a date with the courts to sue the other driver or company for the car accident.

In order to win a lawsuit in court the other driver needs to be at fault and you need to prove with the lawyer that you suffered damage to your vehicle or injuries to yourself or others.

If you suffered more severe injuries and lost time off work because of the car accident then you'll likely win a car accident settlement which can range from $1,000.00 to $100,000.00 and sometimes more depending on the car accident.

They'll also be deductions for attorney fees and lawyer fees, court costs etc but you can either get the settlement paid out to you in full sometimes or have the settlement for the car accident paid out to you in monthly payments.
