Some lawyers will work long hours and will spend around 8 to 10 hours per day working on a case.

But the lawyer could also be working on other cases in his/her law office while working on your case before it goes to court.

So during that 8 to 10 hour day that the lawyer works in the office they may only get around 2 to 3 hours of work done on each case.

So it can take a week or more before the lawyer is finished with the case in his/her office and is ready to take it to court.

The lawyer is very busy and trying to get prepared for representing you in court on the case so the lawyer must go over your case really good and make sure they understand every bit of it so that they have the best chance at winning the case in court for you.

The lawyer wants to win the case so they get paid.

Some lawyers may work overtime to get some cases done if they are backed up and have a lot of work to do.
