If you get into a car accident and the other driver is at fault for the car accident then when you take the driver to court to sue them for pain and suffering the drivers auto insurance company usually is the one who pays out for the pain and suffering settlement.

So after you sue and win the judgement against the other driver the other drivers insurance company will pay out the pain and suffering settlement to you after the court contacts the insurance company.

It can take a week or even a month to get the money from the auto insurance company to pay you on the settlement and they'll send you a check in the mail which is what happened to me.

When I got into a car accident with another driver the auto insurance company paid out the money within a month and sent me a check.
