Why are flies so determined to land and stay on humans?

I have this stupid fly that keeps trying to land on me even when I try to swat it. Why does this fly risk his/her life trying to land on me?

Flies are attracted to the salt and oils on our skin. I agree they're so annoying and wish flies didn't exist.
