Yes some burglars can and do watch peoples houses that they plan to break into.

They may hideout in cars or even vans and watch your activities through cameras or binoculars without you knowing about it.

The burglars could be in what are disguised as work vehicles such as Dish Network, the telephone companies or even the electric company.

Then they will come back later when they know that you're gonna be gone away from the home and then burglarize your home.

Most burglars do not want people to be home when they break into the homes and they may also watch what you bring home from the store or watch what packages you receive as well.

So be very wary of anyone claiming to be from any utility company or other work even if they seem to be in a work vehicle with signage.

Some people fake being utility company workers and other workers to harm people or break into peoples homes.

If in doubt call the actual company the person is supposed to be working for and ask the person for their ID and if they are legit they will gladly wait until you call the company and they will gladly ID themselves to you.

If they refuse to ID themselves to you or don't want you calling the company they supposedly work for then that is a red flag and you should call the cops instead to report them.
