If you're in your home and you have thieves or burglars inside your home you should first get out of the home if possible and then call 911.
Do not confront the burglar or thieves because they could have a gun or other weapon to use on on you and if you do not have a gun or other way to defend yourself then it could be deadly for you.
Your things are not worth risking your life over so always just leave the home if possible and call police.
Only confront the burglars or thieves if you have no other choice and cannot get out of the home and only if you have a weapon such as a sharp knife or gun.
I would never confront a burglar without a gun and I mean a shot gun that I could shoot the burglar from a good distance.
I would never get too close to the burglar as a high powered rifle would take out the burglar from a distance.
Remember the law says that you have a duty to retreat though before using deadly force so don't use the gun as your first option if you have other options to get away.
Let trained law enforcement enter your home and confront the burglars which is the safest thing to do.
