Court appointed attorneys are not the best attorneys when defending you in court however having a court appointed attorney is much better than defending yourself without an attorney especially if you do not know the laws and how to fight for something in court.

It's best to always hire a private attorney though if possible who will really work with you to defend you in court because the private attorney will have more interest in defending you in court because you'd be paying them to defend you in court.

The private attorney would more likely win the case for you than a court appointed attorney but if you cannot afford an attorney yourself then having a court appointed attorney is better than no attorney.
