A lot of people can and do drive safely in 50 MPH winds but it still can be dangerous because the winds especially at 50 MPH make your vehicle harder to control.
The wind speed can help push you forward and can cause semis to even overturn and land on vehicles or push you or another vehicle into an oncoming lane.
So if you need to drive in 50 MPH winds or higher make sure to keep both your hands firmly on the steering and pay very close attention to the road and your surroundings.
A gust of wind can cause your vehicle to swerve and move around in the lane so be very careful and if you do not have to drive then just stay home.
