As long as the public roadway allows parking on the curb then no parking in front of someones house on a public roadway is not illegal.
It can be seen as inconsiderate though but you cannot be in trouble by the law or anything if you do park your car in front of someones house.
Now if you were to park in their driveway then then that would be illegal since the driveway is private property but the roadway is a public roadway so it's not illegal to park in front of someones house as long as you're parked on the public roadway.
