As long as your desktop computer has the correct connections then you can replace the spinning disk hard drive with a solid state hard drive.

The solid state hard drive will make the computer run faster and boot up faster as well since it doesn't require the spinning disk to read and write data too.

In order for the SSD hard drive or solid state hard drive to be compatible with your desktop computer your desktop computer needs to have the SATA power cable and the SATA data cable.

If it has those then the solid state drive will be compatible.
