Actually credit cards are more secure than debit cards because with a credit card you can't be held liable for more than $50.00 in fraudulent charges.

But with a debit card you can be held liable for more than $50.00 in charges and if someone uses your debit card they can drain your bank account and then you'd lose that money.

And the bank doesn't even have to reimburse you the stolen money so you'd lose all your money and if you overdraft with the debit card you can be charged the overdraft fees as well.

If you lose a debit card you need to report it within 24 hours of losing it or sooner to be protected.

The sooner you report the lost debit card the sooner the bank can deactivate that card so it can't be used.
