Why is reuse of material better than recycling in saving the environment?

When you reuse something it's still recycling but the difference is that when you reuse something you're using it already in it's made form and so you don't have to have the product melted down or processed in order to recycle it and then turn it into a new product.

It saves resources when you just reuse something instead of processing it and turning it into something new.

When you send something off for recycling it's either melted down or processed in some other way and then turned into a new product.
