How do you stop copper from corroding?

If the copper is electrical wire then you can apply some grease made for conducting electricity to prevent the electrical connections from corroding.

You can also called Everbrite to protect and coat the copper from tarnishing or corroding.

If the copper is not used for electricity and it's just either water pipes or other copper that you want to protect you can rub some linseed oil onto the copper and it will corrosion of the copper.
