It is a good idea to back up files onto the internet.

Having multiple backups of your files and other important data, including videos, photos, databases, website files, spreadsheets and any other files that are important to you is a good idea as it prevents you from losing the data if one or a few devices you have the data stored on is corrupted or has any failures.

I have data including videos, photos, music etc all backed up on multiple thumb drives, hard drives and also online in file hosting services.

DropBox, Google Drive as well as a few others have my data stored and accessible to me when I need it.

Having multiple backups of your files is always a good idea.

Even backing up files on paid services is a good idea and well worth the money, especially for important data like data you need for work, website files, pictures of your kids and other pictures and videos of your kids, family or any other important photos, videos and data.

Having multiple backups, helps ensure that you never lose your data.

Still you shouldn't just rely on the file hosting services as they can have failures as well, but having multiple backups is a great thing.
