Is it normal for my 7 year old son to poop in diapers instead of the toilet?

Unless your 7 year old is bowel incontinent or has other issues with their development like autism or other disabilities, then NO, it's not normal for your 7 year old son to poop in diapers instead of the toilet.

Most 7 year old's are out of diapers during the day and can normally poop in the toilet and should be pooping in the toilet instead of a diaper.

But it's okay if your 7 year old son poops in a diaper if they prefer to do so and eventually he may decide to give up pooping in the diaper and going onto the toilet.

When he poops in his diaper you can say that next time he should try the toilet and when you think he's about to poop or know his pooping schedule then you can direct your 7 year old son to the toilet to try and poop in the toilet instead.

If your 7 year old continues to poop his diaper, then he may need to see a pediatrician to help rule out any underlying causes.

It could also just be a phase that your 7 year old son is going through.

It's not considered normal for your 7 year old son to poop in diapers instead of the toilet, unless he has any developmental delays or issues like incontinence.

Some kids also do, however go through a regression phase in which they may want to return to diapers and poop and or pee in them.

That is normal and will sometimes go away as the child gets through the phase.

There's also some kids who love to wear diapers and regress to a toddler or baby and those kids are called Kid diaper lovers or Kid baby diaper lovers.

That is also normal and many kids, teens and even adults love to wear diapers for fun and regress to a baby like state.

If your 7 year old son is happy when wearing his diapers and pooping and peeing in them, then there's no harm in letting him do so as long as he remains clean and has good hygiene.

Your 7 year old son is not alone in pooping in diapers at his age or loving to wear diapers for fun, if he does.
