Is it normal for my 7 year old son to poop in diapers instead of the toilet?

Unless your 7 year old is bowel incontinent or has other issues with their development like autism or other disabilities, then NO, it's not normal for your 7 year old son to poop in diapers instead of the toilet.

Most 7 year old's are out of diapers during the day and can normally poop in the toilet and should be pooping in the toilet instead of a diaper.

But it's okay if your 7 year old son poops in a diaper if they prefer to do so and eventually he may decide to give up pooping in the diaper and going onto the toilet.

When he poops in his diaper you can say that next time he should try the toilet and when you think he's about to poop or know his pooping schedule then you can direct your 7 year old son to the toilet to try and poop in the toilet instead.

If your 7 year old continues to poop his diaper, then he may need to see a pediatrician to help rule out any underlying causes.

It could also just be a phase that your 7 year old son is going through.
