ZYN is not fully banned in California, but California has a flavored tobacco and flavored nicotine ban.

And so only the flavored varieties of ZYN are banned in California like the Zyn, Chill.

The law was expanded by Assembly Bill 3218, and aims to curb youth access to these flavored tobacco and flavored nicotine products, which are considered more appealing with the cooling sensations and flavors.

California's Senate Bill 793 and other related laws ban the sale of most flavored tobacco and nicotine products statewide.

The main reason for these bans and laws is to make the flavored tobacco products and flavored nicotine products less attractive to young people that might otherwise be tempted to start using them.

Even if they don't have a traditional flavor like fruit or mint, the California Assembly Bill 3218 still bans then as it expanded the definition of a flavored product to include the products that provide a cooling sensation, even without having a traditional fruit or mint flavor.

These also include products that are marketed as Zyn Chill and other cooling variations.

The ban applies to both traditional tobacco products as well as synthetic nicotine products like pouches that also includes flavored Zyns.

Although some unflavored nicotine products, if they meet the state's legal definitions might still be allowed for sale.

The ban is specifically for flavored and cooling sensation tobacco and nicotine products and the unflavored varieties that don't provide a cooling sensation might still be permitted.
