Vicks VapoRub can help stop a cough by intercepting with the cold receptors in the nose and throat which helps stop the coughing.
Whenever I can't stop coughing I apply some Vicks VapoRub to my chest and also put some Vicks VapoRub under my nose and within a few minutes my coughing stops.
I also place some Vicks VapoRub onto my Vaporizer which also helps when it's put out into the air with the water vapor.
The moisture from the Vaporizer also helps to moisturize your lungs as well and helps with the coughing.
