Yes the Romans were one of the first people is Civilization to have indoor plumbing and was built to prevent parasites and health problems.

The Romans toilets used bath water to flush the toilets so they didn't have the running water to the toilets however they did have sewers to carry away the feces and urine.

The Romans also did not have toilet paper like we do today and instead the Romans used a sponge on a stick to clean themselves after pooping.
