Yes Security guards do have authority and can arrest you just like the regular police can.

If you're on private property where a security guard is hired and you commit a crime then the security guard is allowed to chase after you, detain and arrest you and then call for the regular police to come and take you to jail.

Security guards can use reasonable force to make arrests of the person they're arresting.

Security guards employed by security companies in Pakistan do possess a degree of authority, which primarily revolves around safeguarding the premises and people they are assigned to protect. While their authority is not as extensive as that of law enforcement officers, it is nevertheless crucial for maintaining security. Security guards are authorized to enforce rules and regulations established by their clients, ensuring order and safety within their designated areas. This authority is essential for the effective operation of security services in Pakistan. However, it's vital to emphasize that the extent of their authority is typically outlined in contracts between security companies and clients, and it must always adhere to relevant laws and regulations governing security operations in the country.
