Just Pocket Dialed 911 with cell Phone?

I just had my cell phone in my pocket and just noticed that I had pocket dialed 911 with my cell phone?

I immediately pressed the button to hang up.

Will the cops be showing up at my house?

By now you've probably found out.

They will usually try calling your phone back and if they do, then make sure you answer.

They most likely send out a police officer just to check if everything is alright.

Sometimes there could be hostage situations or someone hurt where the phone goes dead.

Police know about pocket dialing so you won't get into trouble for it. But make sure you lock your phone so it doesn't pocket dial.

If you do pocket dial. Don't just hang up. Go ahead and talk to the 911 operator and let them know what happened.

They will still most likely send out a police officer just to make sure everything is okay.

But no you won't get in trouble for an accidental pocket dial. The police and 911 operators are aware of pocket dialing.
