Ice storms can become deadly if the ice storm gets severe enough.
During an ice storm or just plain old freezing rain the roads can become slick making it difficult to travel on and could end up causing wrecks and even deadly wrecks too.
Ice storms also cause power lines to snap as well as tree branches and even entire trees to snap and break which can fall on power lines or even fall on a person or there house which could kill someone should they be in the part of the house where the tree has fallen.
During an ice storm you should never travel on the road and should stay home if possible.
Power outages are likely to occur during an ice storm so make sure you have some form of alternate emergency heating source and layers of blankets to keep warm if your heat also goes out.
