Is a phone line required for dsl internet?

Can you get DSL internet without a telephone line?

DSL requires a telephone line to get DSL service as DSL internet runs through telephone lines from your house to the DSLAM at the central office.

With some DSL providers you can get what is called Naked DSL which doesn't require you to have telephone service.

You still need the telephone line though.
