In internet terms Static routing is where you configure your router so that it statically sends traffic to certain destinations in preconfigured directions.
Dynamic Routing on the other hand is when you use one of the routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP, and/or BGP to figure out what paths the internet traffic should take.
