Is water damage covered by homeowners insurance?

The wind blew some shingles off my house during a storm and it leaked water into my dining room.

Does Home Owners insurance cover water damage to to shingles being blown off and water leaking in through the roof?

Most home owners insurance plans do cover water damage due to natural disasters such as storms.

But most won't cover water damage from floods.
