The California Law states you can legally carry a concealed gun in your vehicle with a concealed carry permit but the gun must be unloaded when carrying the gun in a concealed manner in your vehicle.
So yes you can legally carry a gun in your vehicle in California as long as you have a concealed weapons permit to do so and the gun is legally in your name but you must carry the gun unloaded.
In some other states you can carry a loaded gun legally in your vehicle but in California it looks like you can only carry the gun in your car if it's not loaded.
