The diseases that affect the adrenal glands are Addison's disease, hyperaldosteronism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia and Cushing's Syndrome, diabetes, Hypercortisolism, adrenal insufficiency, Adrenocortical carcinoma, Adrenal incidentaloma, and pituitary adenoma.

Other conditions that can affect the adrenal glands are adrenal cancer, adrenal tumors and pheochromocytoma.

Cushing's syndrome which is a condition that can affect your adrenal glands is a condition that results from the prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol, which is often a result of Cushing's disease which is excess cortisol production from your adrenal glands or from the use of steroid medications.

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia which also can affect your adrenal glands is a group of genetic disorders which affect your adrenal gland's ability to produce cortisol and aldosterone, which leads to the overproduction of androgens.

Hyperaldosteronism which can also affect your adrenal glands is when your adrenal glands produce too much aldosterone, and can lead to high blood pressure and electrolyte imbalances.

Adrenal cancer is when malignant tumors like adrenocortical carcinoma can develop in your adrenal glands.

Pheochromocytoma which can affect your adrenal glands is a tumor that is often benign "non cancerous" which overproduces epinephrine and norepinephrine, which leads to symptoms such as high blood pressure and a rapid heart rate.

Another condition that can affect your adrenal glands is adrenal incidentalomas which are adrenal tumors that are often accidentally found and can be benign or malignant and may or may not be hormone producing.

Your adrenal glands are two small, triangular shaped glands which are located on top of each of your kidneys, and produce hormones that regulate your metabolism, blood pressure and other essential functions.

The adrenal glands consist of an outer cortex and an inner medulla, with each producing different hormones.

The adrenal glands are endocrine glands and are located on top of each of your kidneys and they produce many important hormones which include cortisol, adrenaline and aldosterone and they also help regulate many bodily functions including your response to stress, blood pressure and even metabolism.
