Guinea pigs can have peas but you should avoid giving the guinea pig canned peas due to the sodium content.

Fresh peas are healthier and better for the guinea pig but if you do give the guinea pig canned peas be sure to rinse them to remove most of the sodium.

Guinea pigs can eat cabbage leaves and other leafy greens which is very healthy and nutritious for the guinea pigs.

Guinea pigs can eat canned corn in small amounts although you should rinse the canned corn to get rid of some of the sodium

Fresh corn is better for guinea pigs than canned corn though because it does not contain the added sodium.

Guinea pigs can eat pea flakes and they make a healthy treat for guinea pigs.

Pea flakes contain an amino acid called Lysine that is a nutrient that the guinea pig cannot produce themselves so it's a vital nutrient for them that is also provided in their daily food.

It is safe for guinea pigs to eat lettuce.

Lettuce and other leafy greens are healthy for guinea pigs and should make up the most of the guinea pigs diet.

Guinea pigs poop as often as up to 100 times a day which is normal.

However some guinea pigs may only poop up to 50 times a day which is also normal but if the guinea pig poops less than 50 times a day then it could be a sign of something being wrong with the guinea pig.

Some reasons for a guinea pig pooping less than 50 times a day is reduced food intake or even slowed gut motility.

It is very important to clean up after your guinea pig to prevent the spread of diseases.

Clean out the guinea pigs cage at least once a week, and scoop up poop and wet spots every day.

Always immediately pick up after your guinea pig after they have been outside of their cage.

Guinea pigs also urinate frequently and they can urinate several times an hour, up every fifteen minutes, throughout the day.

If the guinea pig eats more fruit and vegetables, which have a high-water content, they'll pee even more often to get rid of any excess water or vitamins.

Although guinea pigs have a longer colon than other rodents, around 60% the length of their intestines, the cavy digestive system wastes no time.

The process from start to finish can be as quick as a few hours, with about 20 hours being average.

Guinea pigs will tend to defecate and urinate throughout the cage, but some owners have had great success in almost eliminating this behavior and enabling their guinea pigs to do their business in their litter box.

Guinea pigs often form strong bonds with their human companions.

However, they can be flighty animals and will sometimes run away from you, even if they're used to being picked up.

They tolerate being picked up but are unlikely to enjoy it.

The guinea pig or domestic guinea pig, also known as the cavy or domestic cavy, is a species of rodent belonging to the genus Cavia in the family Caviidae.

Guinea pigs are naturally sociable creatures that need companionship to stay happy.

In the wild, they live together in large herds, so they should always be kept in pairs or small groups.

Also guinea pigs are great at taking care of their personal hygiene, so most of the time, they don't really need to have a guinea pig bath.

If you notice your precious pigs getting a bit smelly or soggy, however, you can give them a couple of baths a year without causing any problems.
