Medicine can make you feel sleepy after taking the medication because the medication affects chemicals in your brain that are called neurotransmitters.

The nerves use the neurotransmitters to carry messages to each other and some of them control how sleepy or awake you feel.

So when the medication affects the chemicals in your brain it can make you feel sleepy.
