How long should you wait after spraying insecticide?

After spraying insecticide in your home you should wait at least 2 to 4 hours before returning to your home.

Generally when an exterminator sprays insecticide in your home they will advise you to not return to inside the home until 2 to 4 hours have passed.

In some cases you may need to stay out of the home or business for 24 hours if it's a more powerful insecticide.

To get rid of ants in the house permanently you should spray the ants with some ant and roach spray such as Raid Ant and Roach Spray.

Also setting out ant traps such as sticky traps to catch ants crawling across surfaces.

To stop ants from getting in the house you should seal up any cracks, holes etc and be sure to put pet food away and in sealed containers or keep pet food in the garage.

Also clean up any spills, crumbs, food etc that may be on the floor or counter, tables etc.

Ants in the house are caused by food, water, trash, crumbs, pet food etc.

A natural way to get rid of ants in the house is to use borax, sugar and water.

Make a solution of 1/2 teaspoon borax, 8 teaspoons sugar, and 1 cup warm water.

Stir until the sugar and borax are dissolved.

Saturate cotton balls and place them around your home in areas where you commonly see ants.

After use, wash containers thoroughly or discard.

Raid Ant and Roach Spray and other Ant and Roach Spray brands are also good for killing ants and some spiders as well.

The bugs that Raid is formulated to kill are Ants, Boxelder Bugs, Centipedes, Crickets, Firebrats, Fleas, Flies, Gnats, Ground Beetles, Mosquitoes, Roaches, Scorpions, Silverfish, Small Flying Moths, Sowbugs, Spiders, Stink Bugs, Ticks.

The Raid ant and roach spray is safe for carpets and will kill ants and roaches and some other bugs in the carpet.

After spraying Raid it can take around 1 hour to 2 hours for the Raid to air out although Raid spray usually dries within 15 minutes.

It takes Raid Ant Killer around 15 minutes to dry once sprayed.

Indoor Raid is toxic but once dry it becomes safe to be around.

Raid Ant Killer is safe to use indoors.

When using Raid Ant Killer indoors you should keep pets away from the area for at least 15 minutes and also ventilate the home if possible.

Raid is made of ingredients which include pyrethroids, imiprothrin, and cypermethrin; other products contain tetramethrin, prallethrin and permethrin as active ingredients.

Raid Flying Insect Killer, a spray, uses piperonyl butoxide and D-phenothrin.

Raid can be used in kitchen cabinets.

Remove any dishes, food etc from the kitchen cabinets and then spray the inside of the kitchen cabinets with the raid.

Raid can be sprayed on carpets.

Raid is safe to spray on carpets and they also make a Raid spray made for killing bugs on carpets called Raid carpet and room spray.

Raid is safe to dry.

Once Raid dries it becomes safe to be around and pets and children can be around it.

After spraying Raid you should keep pets and children away from the areas for 15 to 20 minutes.

Raid does not stain walls although it can leave some residue on the walls.

To clean Raid off of walls you can wash it down with soap and water.

Mix dish washing detergent in hot water and swish to make a great volume of suds.

Dip a cloth in only the foam and apply to the stain.

Rinse with a clean cloth moistened with clear water. Polish or wax as soon as possible.

If you get Raid on your skin nothing will usually happen although you may get skin irritation, rashes etc.

If you do get Raid on your skin you should wash it off as soon as possible.

Raid is safe for pets as long as you keep the pet away from the area for at least 15 minutes.

Never spray your pet with Raid though as it can make them sick and possibly kill them.

After spraying Raid it becomes safe for pets after 15 minutes.

If you use a fogger in your home you should ideally wait at least a few hours before allowing yourself and your pets back into your home.

You cannot and should not ever spray Raid on your dog.

The Raid bug spray can be toxic to your dog when it's absorbed into their skin.

If your dog has bugs such as fleas, ticks etc they need a flea and tick bath to kill the fleas and ticks but never spray bug spray on your dog or cat as it can make them sick and kill them.

Raid spray does actually work.

Raid spray works best when you spray the ants or bugs directly to kill them on contact.

However even after spraying Raid it can kill ants and bugs for a week or so after but when you see the bugs you should spray then with the Raid spray directly as well.

You can stay in your house after spraying Raid.

However it's best to open windows and leave the house for around 15 to 30 minutes to allow the smell of the Raid spray to dissipate.

Once the room is ventilated and the dead insects/residual raid is cleaned away, your room should be safe to sleep in.

RAID Ant Traps take around 1 to 2 days to begin working to get rid of ants.

However in some cases the ants may be attracted to the RAID Ant Traps the same day but it may take a day or so for the ants to discover the trap and start going to it.

Bug spray does work on ants.

The best bug spray for getting rid of and killing ants is Raid ant and Roach Killer.

To get rid of ants permanently seal off any cracks, crevices etc that the ants can get into through and also use some baking soda, Windex, Ant Spray or even some Diatomaceous Earth.

White vinegar, available at all grocery stores, is a cheap and effective way to kill and repel ants.

It is also a natural cleaning agent.

Try using a 1-to-1 vinegar/water mixture to clean hard surfaces, including floors and countertops, wherever ants are likely to travel.

Windex does keep ants away and also kills the ants as well.

Spraying the ants with Windex kills the ants within seconds and also cleans the surfaces they are on.

Baking soda is also another way to kill ants but it takes awhile for the ants to die after ingesting it.

Baking soda gets rid of ants in the kitchen and other places by way of the ants ingesting the baking soda which drys out the ant from the inside out and then the ant eventually dies.

Baking soda kills ants when they ingest it and is thought to dry out their bodies from the inside.

This happens very quickly, and ants will die within a few minutes of eating baking soda.

That's why we suggest to sprinkle baking soda over the ant nests.

Common home remedies that kill ants naturally are bakers yeast, cinnamon, dish soap and water and Diatomaceous earth (silicon dioxide).

Make a mixture of dish soap or dish washing liquid, put in a spray bottle and shake it well.

Spray it on the ants.

The solution will stick to the ants and the dish soap suffocates the ants to death.

This spray can also be used to kill ants that are thriving on your plants.

Cinnamon does get rid of ants.

When ants inhale cinnamon they suffocate and die as a result of the cinnamon.

Similarly if the ant eats some cinnamon they will also die and suffocate from the cinnamon.

Used coffee grounds will keep ants away.

Although some ants may just go around them and ignore them.

You can also use some ant motels or sticky traps to help catch ants walking around on counters, floors etc.

Food sources and moisture and even pet food can attract ants in your home.

Ants may appear suddenly in your house if you aren't storing food properly.

The smells from the food will be beacons to ants outside the home.

Make sure that you keep all food in airtight containers so that ants cannot pick up the smells coming from that improperly stored food.

Some things and home remedies that make ants go away are salt, baby powder, lemon juice, chalk, vinegar, bay leaves, cinnamon, or peppermint oil.
