What explains what I heard last night, when he was, for a lack of better words, aroused by playing like he was a toddler in a poopy diaper and saying to his mother during this play that he didn't want changed? On further note, I must say that, shortly after returning to our home after Christmas, we had Matthew tested, and he doesn't have any behavioral issues, developmental problems, autism, etc. He is doing well in school, but he just likes, for some reason, to play like he is a toddler in a dirty diaper based on what I heard him say during his play last night. So again, what should we do? Do we buy him diapers and put limits on where and when he can engage in this behavior? What is the answer here?

Sounds to me like your son is a diaper lover and wants to be a toddler.

If your 12 year old son loves to have poop against his skin he should be put in diapers as much as he can wear them.

If your 12 year old son can wear diapers all the time then I would allow him to wear the diapers all the time and poop and pee in them.

I always loved pooping in my diapers and even as a toddler I would sit in poop for hours if I was allowed too.

I would poop my diaper and not tell my parents or always deny that I pooped my diaper.

I hated having my poopy diaper changed as I loved the poop feeling against my butt.

If you're not comfortable changing his diapers then tell him that he must at least properly clean up after his poopy diaper.

A shower is a good way to clean up poop after poopy diaper play.

Even kids without any issues just love to wear diapers and poop and or pee in them.

I would allow him too wear them and use them.
