Toddlers will like or deny they have a messy diaper or a poop diaper because they don't want to get changed.

The toddler knows that if they tell you they have pooped their diaper then they will have to go lay down to get changed.

However although it seems like a lie the toddler does not know what lying actually is so they are not intentionally lying but they are instead just denying the poopy diaper so they won't have to get changed.

For some toddlers they actually enjoy the poop feeling in their diaper.

Pooping a diaper is not the same feeling as pooping your underwear so the poop in the diaper may not actually be bothering the toddler.

When your toddler poops their diaper the way you should react is just smile at them and let them know that you'll change them when they are done.

You should not laugh at them or make a big deal about the toddler pooping their diaper as that can make them uncomfortable and associate pooping their diaper with a bad thing.

Just tell them that when they finish up pooping then they will need to get a diaper change.

Then after the toddler finishes pooping their diaper you should then allow them 10 to 15 minutes to completely finish pooping their diaper and then change them.

The signs that a child is ready to potty train include, wanting a diaper change, hating wet or dirty diapers, keeping a diaper dry for a few hours, can pull up and pull down their pants, can go to the toilet on their own and recognize the need to go.

Other signs that a child may be ready to potty train include.

Pulling at a wet or dirty diaper.
Hiding to pee or poop.
Showing Interest in others' use of the potty, or copying their behavior.
Having a dry diaper for a longer-than-usual time.
Awakening dry from a nap.
You're changing fewer wet diapers.
Your child's bowel movements are predictable.
He or She broadcasts bodily functions.
He or She despises dirty diapers.
He or She's able to perform simple undressing.
He or She understands bathroom lingo.

There's really not a set age when a kid should begin potty training or for them to be potty trained.

A kid should wear diapers until they are ready to use the toilet.

Some kids are ready to potty train by 18 months while some are not ready to potty train until 3 years to 4 years old and in some cases some kids may not be ready to potty train until 5 years old.

The average age for potty training kids is between 18 months to 2 years of age.

That is for most kids who are ready to potty train at those ages.

Some kids are ready to potty train and get out of diapers as early as age 18 months and are fully potty trained by 2 years old.

The child may still need to wear diapers at night for bed wetting but they should be able to go all day without a diaper.

Some kids may not potty train and be out of diapers until age 3 years old to as late as 4 years old.

A kid will eventually potty train when they are ready.

It's normal for a kid to need to wear diapers for bed wetting from age 3 to as late as age 8 years old and even older.

Some kids will continue to wet the bed for quite awhile and it's normal and some kids may wet the bed until age 17 or 18 years old and some people wet the bed all their lives and that is also normal.

Forcing potty training too early can be harmful to the child's health because they may try to hold in their poop or pee and that can lead to kidney and bowel issues.
